Recruiting

Post by NDirish8305 on Wed Jun 27, 2012 4:13 pm

This is something I do whenever I start a dynasty w/ a low caliber team. No matter what the roster look like I have to recruit me atleast 2 qb's. A scrambler and a pocket passer...lol

What is the first position you look to recruit when building a team?

***edit***

next is a big DT to fill the gap and a speedy slot wr who can find mismatch w/ lb's and safeties and play kr...kinda like roscoe parrish lol

My biggest pet peeve is landing a lefty QB.

I always hunt for speed at WR, OLB, and DE. I go talent first but I'll make offers to the lower star guys if they've got the speed. Every year I hope to negate the need with an updated NCAA, but it never fails that speed is king.

I gotta have an above average DT and HB when I start recruiting. Someone with enough finesse to get around a lineman, but not so weak that he's overpowered every snap, and running back who can get between the tackles with some speed and take a hit, cuz dude's gonna get hit.

An athletic FS since that's who I normally use on defense. Then normally a highly rated WR since they are fairly easy to get because there are so many.

I don't have the balls to play anywhere other than DE.

You just have to practice it. You can create a whole new defense using a safety.

Yes a fast RB is a must. I don't understand how people play with slow/power backs. A play that would be a TD with a fast back is often a 2 yard loss for a power back.

Definitely getting a RB that can pound the rock, I like having a bigger RB that can chew up the clock. To me nothing is more frustrating then having someone run on me down the field, picking up 4 yards when it's 3rd and 3 breaking tackles along the way.

Also having a Darren Sproles type back is a must for me, someone who can take a screen/KR/PR to the house!

I'm trying to get used to playing with my FS, I tend to give alot more yards. I prefer, so far, using my MLB.

Just realized I meant OLB not DE but I've been know to switch between the two when needed and I can play a little safety if I'm not getting the pressure needed

I like to do something different.

I like to find strong DE's with decent speed, and use them as DT's, and I like to find fast linebackers that maybe aren't very highly recruited, and use them as DE's. This really works pretty nicely for me.

After that, I just look at whatever I need and recruit to fill those areas. Any high rated guys I can get after that are a bonus.

O Linemen for sure. It doesn't matter if my RB or QB is good if I'm getting hit in the back every play.

I love having a quarterback who can move outside of the pocket so I look for a running qb and a passing qb. I also like to get a burner on the outside to stretch the field.

I use a FS or MLB depending on situations. MLB is starting to be my go to though

If speed is a major factor in recruiting what is the ideal range for speed.

I always go after oline first then I go after speed in my secondary and lb's since i usually play on my mike lb. I go hard after defensive players because I usually play conservative on offense(like Wisconsin).

I got to go for speedy tall WRs and tall H Backs to play TE. On defense, gotta have fast DEs and big, tall CBs.
