Who will be the best conference in 2012/13 season?

I wanted to start a new debate since the other thread seems to have focused on results of 11/12 season.

Call me crazy (not saying this to start a fight) but I think the Big 12 might have the inside track if nothing more than they're the only real power conference without a championship, as the Big 10 can profess that leads to multiple BCS teams almost every year and I think you'll see that at the end of the season from the Big 12.

So what gives the Big 12 the inside track? Really curious on your logic for that...

Im gone put it like this since you like list so much:

1. These ranking are before any game has been played.
2. If you look at preseason ranking from the last 10 years you may more than 100 teams that don't even end up ranked.
3. The big 12 does not have the strength of schedule as the Sec so when the rankings are bound to switch as the season progresses depending on the records of course.
4. Correct me if I am wrong I thought the saying is to be the man you have to beat the man and last I checked the SEC hasn't been dethroned yet

You are letting your blatant Big 12 fanhood get in the way of what's clear as day. I mean first of all these are "EA Sports" rankings so they hold no merit. The top Big 12 team would just be good in the SEC and even that's a stretch. And I yeah I'm bold enough to say that. Why? Because none of your teams in the Big 12 have the means to win the war in the trenches. Maybe TCU. LoL

Dude, see the Hawkeye avatar I'm Big 10 anyway. I gave an opinion, that I feel as a conference the Big 12 has a shot to be looked upon as the best conference for this season.

The point on the Big 12 is that they are likely to end up being the one conference with two teams playing in BCS games at the end of the season because they don't have a championship game anymore, the big 10 just started theirs last year and prior to that they were the conference with the most BCS bowl participants. Having two BCS teams gets you talked about as the best conference, it's really the only way that people have kept the big 10 in those discussions in the past, so now with a swap of who has championship conference games and who doesn't I see critics/experts will be trying to tout the Big 12.

With that said I don't see a Big 12 team right now that can make the run for a NC that's going to be a Pac12 team against an Sec team, so if you only tout championships as the merit of a conference then put those two on top.

I started the thread to talk about predictions for the conferences in the upcoming year and threw a list out so there was something to go by nothing more and thats why I didn't talk about anything after it I just gave some shit to talk about.

You know it's our job as SEC fans to be arrogant & annoying. LoL

Honestly I feel that the Big 10 is better than the Big 12 but that's just me. I don't think the Big 12 will be as good this year as they were last year. Oklahoma St and Kansas St won't be as good this season. It will be interesting to see how TCU does going into a major conference. West Virginia plays the style the Big 12 plays so they may not have a big adjustment to make, but we will see.

Texas is a wild card. They have a great defense and a solid running game but they have to get that qb position fixed. They need to name a starter and stick with that guy as opposed to switching every few possessions. I think they can have a solid season if they do that. We know they have the talent to be great. And OU will be there at the end because they don't have a very tough schedule.

Big 12 is overrated as usual but we will see if they can make a run.

K-state is loaded and ou plays one of the toughest schedules in the nation.

Boz can K-State play in the SEC?

K-State can play with anyone including the SEC. They are going to be better this year then they were last year.

Even in its worst years the SEC is the best conference.
